Meet Dario & Luz.

We’re a husband-and-wife team with more than a decade of hands-on experience in reselling, researching, and valuing a wide range of items.

Our backgrounds in hospitality, business ownership, event planning, and customer service shape the personal care we bring to every estate sale—from luxury estates to everyday homes.

Where it began

A friendship built over time.
A shared calling.

Our story began at Florida International University’s hospitality and tourism management program, where we met and became best friends. We both graduated in 2013, with Dario focused on beverage management and Luz on event planning.

Working together at a high-end restaurant in Coral Gables helped shape the attention to detail and personal service we bring to our work today.

In 2011, Luz began selling on eBay to help pay her way through her final two years of college. She introduced Dario to reselling, and he soon made it his full-time work, researching items, assessing their value, and getting to know people at garage sales.

Luz continued reselling part-time while pursuing her own goals. She opened a Peruvian restaurant and catering company, then earned a second FIU degree in public relations. She later brought her event planning and communications experience into customer service.

Over the years, we visited countless estate sales as resellers. Along the way, we noticed what made a sale work well—and talked about how we would run one ourselves.

A personal understanding

We’ve been on
the family’s side, too.

Before Soflo was formally established, we held a private estate sale when Luz’s grandmother moved into a care home. After Luz’s father passed away, we organized another. Those experiences showed us how emotional it can be to sort through belongings and decide what comes next.

People we knew through reselling encouraged us to start a company. When a close friend lost his mother, we offered to organize a sale for him. He was happy with the outcome, and helping someone we cared about gave that encouragement a deeper meaning.

In 2023, after another loss in our friend’s family, the idea became a plan. Dario was preparing to propose to Luz, and we were thinking about building a home and a future together. We decided to build Soflo together, too.

Luz created the company name, logo, and social media presence and helped put everything in place. Since then, we’ve been conducting estate sales as a team.

Two people. One team.

Different strengths.
A shared commitment.

Luz

Luz manages our social media, scheduling, finances, and incoming calls. Her background in event planning, public relations, and customer service helps keep each sale organized and clients informed.

Dario

Dario leads the hands-on preparation, item research and pricing, and interactions with buyers. His years of full-time reselling bring practical knowledge of items and buyer demand to each sale.

In the end, we both do a little of everything. We work together to prepare the sale, answer questions, and support our clients through the process.

Our faith & values

God above all else.

We both grew up in Christian households, and our faith continues to guide our lives and the way we do business. We take our morals, honesty, and credibility seriously, and we believe in treating people and their belongings with care and respect.

For many years, Dario has served at our church as the worship band leader and pianist. Luz has helped coordinate church services, making sure everything runs smoothly, and has occasionally sung with the band.

Serving together has taught us the value of preparation, teamwork, and showing up for others. We bring those same commitments to our clients and every estate sale we manage.

Our faith comes first. We reserve Sundays for worship and do not host estate sales on Sundays.

What matters to us

Your belongings matter.
So does your peace of mind.

Our goal is to achieve the strongest practical sale proceeds for your items while helping you move forward through what can be a stressful and emotional time.

We want you to feel comfortable trusting us with your home and belongings. That starts with explaining our process clearly, discussing expectations honestly, and taking the time to answer your questions.

To us, a successful sale means more than items finding new owners. It means knowing our clients felt heard, supported, and cared for along the way.

Luxury estates & everyday homes

Every home is different.
Experience makes the difference.

We’ve worked in luxury properties and everyday family homes, with collections ranging from gold jewelry and classic cars to cookware, plants, and the household goods people use every day.

Our years of hands-on reselling, item research, and estate sale preparation help us recognize what deserves a closer look. We consider each item’s condition, history, and buyer demand, then research and price it with care.

Every home brings a different mix of belongings. We build the sale around that collection, giving distinctive pieces and everyday essentials thoughtful attention.
